New Soroptimist year begins!

Congrats to Hank Schmidt and her team of new officers as we begin the Soroptimist year!

Thanks to Anita Weidkamp for a very successful year of her presidency.  We appreciate all of the hard work done by everyone. 

The hats and pigtails are just a little bit of fun for our installation.  But the smiles are genuine!

Soroptimist International of Sedro-Woolley was chartered on June 17, 1949!  We are a healthy, vibrant, growing club in the heart of the Pacific Northwest!

Our Ruby Award Winner.  Carol Volunteers at the Sedro Woolley Boy and Girls Club and has been a longtime member of Sedro Woolley Lions Club.

 




Linnaea Groh

 

Our Violet Richardson Award winner. A Senior at Sedro-Woolley High School. Active in music and drama.  Linnaea volunteers at the Lincoln Theater Center Foundation.  Linnaea has put in over 200 hours volunteering to help promote the arts through her passion for Theater.

 

 

 

 

Stacie Olsen

Our Women’s Opportunity Award winner.  Going to Western Washington University to become a teacher.  48-year-old single mother with two teenage boys.  Had been a stay at home mom for 16 years and now has been going back to school to better her life and that of her family.

 

Soroptimist Day in Sedro-Woolley!

At our October 25th meeting, Sedro-Woolley's Mayor Mike Anderson arrived to read a mayoral proclamation declaring October 25, 2011 "Soroptimist International of Sedro-Woolley Day"!  The city recognized SI Sedro-Woolley's many accomplishments and contributions to community life in our town, as well as our dedication to the organization's mission to improve the lives of women and girls.

Thanks, Mayor Mike, for the nod!  We plan to keep doing great things!
